In June five Henley mums completed the 3 peaks challenge in 26 hours after having a bit of a hick up when their driver got lost on the way to Scarfell Pike!
The team of five lead by Joanna Bailey were over the moon to have completed the chal- lenge and to have received so much support from family and friends in raising so much money. “We began hoping to raise £3,000 but the final tally is over £7,000.”
The top of Ben Nevis was cold, wet and windy. Having climbed Snowden first, set- ting off at 6am and then driving over to the Lakes to climb Scarfell they began Ben Nevis at about 3am. The final walk started in rain which then turned to sleet further up the mountain.
“We had managed to get about 4 hours sleep between Scarfell and Ben Nevis so it was a bit of a slog but there was no way any of us were giving up.”
