What should I do if my child is ill?
In the case of vomiting and diarrhoea we are unable to see children until 48 hours pass with no symptoms. If your child is ill and cannot attend a session please inform the office giving as much notice as possible. If you are unsure whether to bring your child please contact the office beforehand.
What happens if we are running late?
Please phone the office and inform us if you are running late. The session will continue as soon as you arrive but please bear in mind that sessions in the ‘Spider’ may no longer be available.
Cancellations are non-refundable. In the case of a cancellation your place will be offered to a family on the waiting list.
When do I need to pay?
2017 bookings – A £300 deposit for each session is payable within one month of receipt of the invoice to secure the session. This is non-refundable and non-transferable. You will receive a final invoice two months prior to the session commencing.
How do I book another session?
You can book further sessions with the Centre Manager, either by person, email or over the phone. When sessions become fully booked we operate waiting lists for each session.
Can I take photographs and/or videos?
Unfortunately photography and videography is not permitted in the Footsteps gym unless authorised by the relevant therapist. Any footage authorised should only be for private use and not published on any public sites unless permission has been obtained (e.g. Facebook and YouTube). Staff at the Footsteps Centre regularly take photos of children during their therapy sessions, copies of which can be provided on request.
Can our regular physiotherapist attend?
External physiotherapists are welcome to attend a session as long as we know in advance. Please contact the office prior to the session.
What is the Home-Care Plan?
Throughout each session therapists will provide advice, tips and exercises that you can continue at home to help maintain the progress made at the Footsteps Centre. On the final day of therapy, parents are invited to join the therapist during mat work and a home-care plan will be advised.
What do I do during my child’s session?
Depending on the needs of your child, you are welcome to sit in on the therapy session, wait in the family room or take advantage of the local shops and cafes. If a child becomes distracted, we will advise parents to leave the room; many of the children are more productive in this setting. If you decide to stay with your child, one parent is preferred at any one time. If you are unsure as to whether you should stay, wait or leave, please feel free to consult a member of staff.
